Your fundraiser story is one of the most important parts of your GiveSendGo page. A clear, well-organized story helps givers understand your need, connect with your cause, and feel confident supporting you. The built-in editor includes formatting tools to make your story easy to read.
Your story has a 10,000-character limit (including spaces). Focus on clarity and the details that matter most.
Use Headings to Organize Your Story
Headings break your story into sections and make it easier for givers to scan. Click the dropdown on the left side of the editor that says Normal, then choose:
- Heading 1 — for major section titles
- Heading 2 — for sub-sections within a section
- Normal — standard body text
- Quote — highlights a testimonial or meaningful statement
- Code — advanced formatting (rarely needed)
Examples: "Why We're Fundraising" or "How the Funds Will Be Used."
Emphasize Important Information
Use the text formatting buttons to draw attention to key details:
- Bold (B) — highlights important points. Use sparingly.
- Underline (U) — adds emphasis when needed
- Clear Formatting (T with a small X) — resets text to default
Avoid over-formatting. Too many bold or underlined sections make your story harder to read, not easier.
Add Color
Click the A button in the toolbar to change the color of selected text. Use color sparingly. Too many colors distract from your message.
Use Lists for Clarity
Lists help organize information and make key points easier to follow. Use the list buttons in the toolbar:
- Unordered list (bullet icon) — for items without a specific order
- Ordered list (numbered icon) — for steps or ranked items
Lists work well for expenses, key updates, or prayer requests.
Adjust Alignment
Use the Paragraph (¶) menu to align text left, center, right, or justified. Left alignment works best for most fundraisers.
Formatting Best Practices
- Break up long paragraphs into shorter ones
- Use headings to separate major sections
- Use lists for grouped items or steps
- Avoid stacking multiple formatting styles on the same text
