Accessing and Managing Your Funds on GiveSendGo

How Transfers Work on GiveSendGo

Getting funds to the people who need them is what GiveSendGo is built for. Here's how the transfer process works.

Automatic vs. Manual Transfers

GiveSendGo offers two types of transfers, and you can choose the one that best fits your needs. You can switch between automatic and manual transfers at any time, but switching to automatic from manual will take effect seven days after making the change.

Automatic Transfers

Once enabled, funds are automatically sent to your connected bank account on a regular schedule, with no further action needed on your part. You can choose the frequency that works best for you:
  1. Weekly
  2. Bi-weekly
  3. Monthly

Manual Transfers

Manual transfers give you more control over when your funds are sent. As funds are added to your available balance, you can initiate a transfer by clicking the Transfer button.
InfoLooking to withdraw a specific amount instead of your full balance? See Partial Transfers in How to Initiate a Transfer for instructions.
In some cases, we may reach out to request additional documentation before a transfer can be processed.

Timelines

Here are some key things to know about how long donations process and become available to transfer to your bank account:
  1. Your first donation becomes available five days after it's received
  2. All subsequent donations become available on a three-day rolling basis
  3. Once a transfer is processed, funds typically land in your bank account within 2–3 business days
Alert
Non-USD transfers may take longer depending on your currency and country.

Transfer Timing Example

Let's walk through an example to make transfer timing even clearer. Let's say your fundraiser receives four donations with one on each of the following dates: May 1st, May 3rd, May 5th, and May 11th.

You'd be able to initiate your first transfer on May 6th, but it would only include your first two donations. This is because your third hasn't been processed and added to your available balance yet, and your fourth donation has not been received. From there, you could:
  1. Initiate a second transfer for your third donation on May 8th, then initiate a third transfer for your fourth donation on May 14th, or
  2. Wait until May 14th to request a second transfer that includes your third and fourth donations
Info
There's no extra fee for making multiple transfer requests on GiveSendGo. However, waiting to combine donations into a single transfer can help simplify your record-keeping if you prefer making fewer transfers.

Minimums and Fees

A few important considerations to keep in mind as part of the transfer process:
  1. Minimum transfer amounts vary by country: check the minimum transfer amount for yours here
  2. Processing fees: see our full fee breakdown for details

If a Transfer Fails

If a transfer fails due to incorrect banking information, our team will reach out with instructions on how to update your bank details. Once you do, the transfer will automatically reattempt using the updated information.
