Accessing and Managing Your Funds on GiveSendGo

How Transfers Work on GiveSendGo

Once you're set up as your fundraiser's recipient, transfers (sometimes called payouts) are how the donations you've raised move from GiveSendGo to your bank account. Here's a full breakdown of how transfers work, including timing, fees, and what happens if something goes wrong.

Automatic vs. Manual Transfers

GiveSendGo offers two transfer types. You can switch between them at any time from the Transfers tab in your fundraiser dashboard.

Automatic transfers send funds to your connected bank account on a recurring schedule with no action needed on your part. You can choose from:

  • Weekly
  • Bi-weekly
  • Monthly

Manual transfers let you initiate a transfer whenever you're ready. As funds become available in your balance, click Request Transfer in the Transfers tab to send them to your bank.

When you switch from manual to automatic transfers, the change takes effect immediately, but your first automatic transfer will go out at the start of your next scheduled cycle (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly), not on the day you switch. Switching from automatic to manual takes effect right away.

In some cases, we may reach out to request additional documentation before a transfer can be processed.

Transfer Timing

Donations don't become available for transfer right away. Here's how the timing works:

  • Your first donation becomes available 5 days after it's received
  • All subsequent donations become available on a 3-day rolling basis
  • Once a transfer is processed, funds typically arrive in your bank account within 2–3 business days
Non-USD transfers may take longer depending on your currency and country.

Timing Example

Say your fundraiser receives four donations on May 1, May 3, May 5, and May 11.

Your first two donations become available on May 6. Your May 5 donation becomes available May 8. Your May 11 donation becomes available May 14.

You could initiate three separate transfers, or wait and combine them. There's no extra fee for multiple transfers, but fewer transfers can simplify your records if you prefer.

Minimums and Fees

Only funds that have cleared the three-day rolling settlement period and moved into your available balance can be transferred.

If a Transfer Fails

If a transfer fails due to incorrect or incomplete bank details, the funds return automatically to your available balance. Once you update your bank information, the transfer will retry automatically. If you need help updating your bank details, Contact Us and we'll walk you through it.
