Do I have to pay taxes on the donations I receive?

Modified on Thu, 08 Dec 2022 at 04:34 PM

Tax implications for received donations are unique to each individual. Typically recipients will not receive a 1099 unless their campaign receives over $20,000 AND has over 200 givers. Even then, the donations may not be considered taxable if they were gifts as described by the IRS. We are not tax professionals, so we cannot give individual tax advice. We recommend that you speak with a tax professional to answer any other tax-related questions you may have.
