How to Add a Recipient and Receive Funds on GiveSendGo

How to Add a Recipient to Receive Funds

Every gift on GiveSendGo is meant to reach someone. Getting funds to the right person starts in the Transfers section of your fundraiser. To access it, go to your Fundraiser Dashboard and select Transfers from the sidebar.

Once a recipient is added to a fundraiser, they'll need to verify their identity and connect a bank account before they can initiate a transfer. For details on timing and release schedules, see How Transfers Work on GiveSendGo.

Add a Recipient

After creating your fundraiser, you'll see a notification on your Fundraiser Dashboard prompting you to add a recipient. Click Add recipient in the notification to get started. If you've dismissed the notification, you can still access this at any time by:
  1. Opening your Fundraiser Dashboard
  2. Clicking Transfers
  3. Clicking Add Recipient
From here, choose one of the following options:

Become a Recipient

If you or a business (whether represented by yourself or someone else) will be receiving the funds, select Become a Recipient and choose your account type:
  1. Personal Account: For fundraiser organizers who will also be the recipient.
  2. Business Account: for organizations and registered businesses. You'll be prompted to enter the email address of the legal representative. If that's you, enter your own email and you'll be taken directly to the Recipient Information form. If it's someone else, enter their email address and they'll receive a verification link to complete setup themselves.
Alert
Legal representatives must be authorized to act on behalf of the business and comply with applicable financial regulations.

Invite a Recipient

If you are the fundraiser organizer but an individual other than yourself will be receiving the funds, select Invite a Recipient to send them an email invitation to to join the fundraiser. You'll need their name and email address. You'll also be asked whether they are the final beneficiary or whether they will be receiving funds on behalf of someone else. If the latter, you'll need to briefly explain the relationship.

Once you send the invitation, they'll receive an email with instructions to set up their account and connect a bank to the fundraiser.

  2. Government-issued photo ID with date of birth
  3. Phone number
  4. Residential address (PO Boxes are not accepted)

Once verification is complete, you'll be able to manage your transfers from the Transfers section of your Fundraiser Dashboard.
