How to Manage Donation Comments on Your GiveSendGo Campaign

How to Manage and Reply to Giver Comments on Your Campaign

Keeping your campaign page clean, encouraging, and on-message is easy with GiveSendGo’s comment management tools. Whether you want to reply to a message from a giver, remove an inappropriate comment, or understand who can make edits—we'll guide you through it all in this article.

Removing Donation Comments

If a comment on your campaign page needs to be removed (for example, if it contains incorrect details or sensitive info), here’s how to do it:
  1. Log in to your GiveSendGo account
  2. Go to the Campaign Dashboard of the campaign the donation was made to
  3. Open the Campaign Data tab
  4. Open the Comments/Replies section in the dropdown
  5. Click the trash can icon next to the comment you want to delete
Info
This will immediately remove the comment from public view on your campaign page.

Who Can Edit Donation Comments?

Campaign organizers and recipients cannot edit a giver’s comment. GiveSendGo allows givers to edit their own comments. To do so, givers can simply click the link provided in their donation receipt to access and update their message.

If you’re a campaign owner or recipient and a comment on your campaign includes something that needs to be edited—such as private details—you should be able to edit it by going to your "Campaign Data" tab and clicking on "Comments/Replies".

Replying to Donation Comments

Want to thank someone publicly or follow up on a message left with a donation? You can leave a reply to a comment right on the campaign page! Engaging with your supporters is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to build momentum around your campaign. A kind reply to a giver’s comment shows appreciation, builds trust, and encourages others to join in.

Whether someone leaves a few encouraging words or shares why they gave, taking a moment to respond helps foster community and connection. Even a quick Thank you so much, Thomas!, for example, can make a lasting impression.

To reply to a comment left on your campaign:
  1. Go to your Campaign Dashboard
  2. Navigate to the Campaign Data section
  3. Head to Comments/Replies
  4. Find the comment and click the pencil icon to the right of it
  5. Enter your message in the Reply On Comment box
Your reply will appear directly beneath the giver’s original comment

Pro tip: Keep your replies genuine and gracious. Every acknowledgment is a chance to deepen support and keep givers engaged throughout your campaign.
