If a campaign organizer decides to close their campaign, we refund all givers.
Our Trust & Safety team reviews donations to protect both givers and ca,paigns from fraudulent activity. During this review, if we weren't able to verify your donation, we will refund it. We don't share details about why a donation was flagged, but these checks are an important part of keeping GiveSendGo safe.
If you have questions about a refunded donation, reach out to us via the Conttact Us and we'll help.
If a giver initiates a dispute with their credit card company, their bank may issue a credit back to them. When this happens, the disputed amount is temporarily removed from your campaign balance while we work through the dispute process with the bank. Depending on the outcome, the funds either go back to the campaign or the credit remains with the giver.
For campaigns supporting political candidates, donations that exceed contribution limits may be refunded to comply with campaign finance regulations.
Organizers can't donate to their own campaigns. If this happened by mistake, we automatically refunded the donation.
For larger donations, we may reach out to verify the giver's information for security purposes. If additional verification wasn't completed, we will refund the donation. This helps us prevent fraud and ensure donations are legitimate.
Refunds typically appear in your bank account or original payment method within 3–10 business days, depending on your bank's processing time.
If you're not sure why you received a refund or want more details about the process, reach out to our support team via the Contact Us button. We're here to help.
