How to Change a Recipient Display Name on GiveSendGo

Changing a Recipient Display Name

There are many reasons you might need to update a display name on your fundraiser—from a legal name change to a privacy concern. How you make those changes depends on whose name needs updating.

For Fundraiser Organizers

If you want to change the name displayed for yourself as the fundraiser organizer, there's no need to contact support—you can do this directly from Edit Campaign. See How to Edit Your Fundraiser for details.
InfoIf the recipient is a business or organization, make sure to select Business Account when setting up your recipient. This ensures the business name appears as the display name automatically.

For Recipients

To request a change, reach out to us via the Contact Us button from the email address tied to your GiveSendGo account and include the following:
  1. The link of the fundraiser you want the update applied to
  2. The reason for the change
  3. The new display name you'd like
Warning
Impersonation Policy Reminder: Recipient names must accurately reflect the individual, business, or organization directly involved with the fundraiser. Display names that misrepresent your relationship to the fundraiser cannot be approved, even when fundraising on someone else's behalf.

Common Reasons for Updating the Recipient Display Name

  1. Legal Name Change: marriage, divorce, court documentation, or similar
  2. Safety Concerns: protecting your or someone else's identity in a sensitive situation
  3. Professional Pseudonym: a stage name, pen name, or alternate identity
  4. Representing a Digital Brand or Page: for fundraisers run on behalf of a business, ministry, influencer, or organization

What Happens After You Submit Your Request

Once we receive your request, our team will review it and reach out if anything is missing. Once approved, we'll update the recipient name on your fundraiser.
