Knowing where your support comes from helps you share your fundraiser more effectively. Referral codes let you create unique shareable links for different platforms, emails, or promotions, so you can see what's driving the most givers.
How to Enable Referral Tracking
- Log in to your GiveSendGo account
- Go to My Campaigns and open the fundraiser you want to manage
- Click Settings on the Dashboard
- Scroll to Referral Codes
- Toggle Enable referral codes to On
How to Create a Referral Code
Once referral tracking is enabled, a field will appear to enter your code:
- Enter a short, memorable code (for example: FB2025 or EmailPromo)
- A referral link will automatically generate beneath the field
- Click Save
Each referral link follows this format: https://givesendgo.com/YourFundraiser?donateCode=YourCode
How to Manage Your Referral Codes
To review and manage your codes, go to your fundraiser Settings and scroll to Referral Codes. From there you can:
- Copy the full referral link
- Delete unused or outdated codes
Referral Codes only appears in Settings if referral tracking has been enabled.
How Referral Codes Work
When someone uses your referral link, the donation form automatically populates with your referral code. The code then appears in your Donation Reports under the Referral Code column when you export your fundraiser data, so you can see exactly which link led each giver to your fundraiser.
See Accessing and Exporting Fundraiser Data for instructions on exporting reports.
You can manage other display options from the same Settings page. See Donation Display Settings on GiveSendGo for a full overview.
