Deceased Organizer or Recipient of a GiveSendGo Campaign

Modified on Sat, 18 Feb 2023 at 05:23 PM

In the unfortunate event that a GiveSendGo creator or recipient has passed away, we're here to help. We understand that the loss of a loved one is a heartbreaking and emotional journey, and we aim to make this process as simple as possible for you. Our options include transferring the account, ending the campaign, or returning all remaining donations back to the Givers. To make any of these changes, the executor or administrator of the deceased's estate must provide the following necessary documents:

  • Government-issued photo ID: The executor's or administrator's current driver's license, passport, or other government-issued photo ID should be put out on a piece of paper with the current date printed on it.
  • Obituary or death certificate: A copy of the obituary or death certificate for the deceased Beneficiary.
  • Will or legal documentation: A copy of the deceased organizer's will or other relevant legal paperwork designating the executor.

Transfer the campaign and funds to the executor or administrator

If the campaign is transferred, the executor or administrator of the deceased recipient's estate may receive the campaign and its proceeds. The executor or administrator would be able to manage it, including updating it publicly and setting up bank transfers to receive the funds.

End the campaign and transfer the funds to the deceased recipient's account

By ending the campaign, no one will be able to continue donating, and the account will remain in the original recipient's name. If bank transfers were set up and verified, any remaining funds will be transferred to the bank account on file and the executor or administrator can work with the original recipient's bank to manage the funds.

End the campaign and refund all remaining donations

This option will cancel the campaign and refund all remaining donations back to the donors.

We understand that this process can be overwhelming, and we are here to support you in any way we can. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.

With sympathy and compassion,

The GiveSendGo Team
