Donating Anonymously: Protecting Your Privacy on GiveSendGo

Modified on Wed, Jul 31 at 1:53 PM

Privacy is essential for many donors who prefer to contribute without disclosing their identity. GiveSendGo aims to balance the privacy desires of our donors while maintaining transparency for campaign organizers. We believe that organizers should have access to donor information to properly manage their campaigns, acknowledge contributions, and maintain accurate records. At the same time, we recognize that some donors prefer to remain anonymous to the public, which is why we provide the option to hide their names from the public campaign page.

Limitations of Anonymity

While we strive to protect the privacy of our donors, it's important to remember that complete anonymity may not always be possible. For instance, the campaign organizer will still have access to your name and email address, even if you choose to remain anonymous to the public. This measure ensures that the platform remains transparent and accountable, allowing organizers to maintain accurate records and prevent fraudulent activities.

How to Donate Anonymously

When making a donation, you will find a checkbox labeled "Hide name from public view." By selecting this option, your name will appear as "Anonymous" on the public campaign page. However, the campaign organizer will still be able to see your name and email address in their donation reports.
