How to Donate Anonymously on GiveSendGo and Protect Your Privacy

Modified on Mon, Apr 28 at 6:39 PM

At GiveSendGo, we know that privacy matters. Many givers prefer to make donations without publicly sharing their name — and we offer an easy way to do just that. In this article, we'll explain how to donate anonymously, what information remains private, and what details campaign organizers can still access for record-keeping and security.

What Happens When You Donate Anonymously

When you choose to donate anonymously, your name will appear as Anonymous Giver on the campaign page. This means that other visitors to the campaign will not see your name attached to your gift

However, the campaign owner and recipient will still be able to see your real name and email address in their campaign dashboard. This ensures they can properly track contributions, send thank-you notes, and maintain transparent fundraising practices.

How to Hide Your Name When Donating

During the donation process:

  • Look for the checkbox labeled Hide name from public view
  • Check this box before completing your donation

And that's it! Your gift will show as being made by Anonymous Giver.

What to Expect Regarding Giver Privacy

While we provide the option to hide your name from the public, full anonymity isn't possible within our platform. Organizers and recipients must retain access to basic giver information to:

  • Maintain accurate donation records
  • Ensure compliance with platform policies
  • Help protect campaigns against fraud

This approach helps us balance giver privacy with the transparency organizers need to manage their campaigns responsibly.
