How to Add a Recipient and Receive Funds

Modified on Wed, Apr 23 at 12:40 AM

To receive funds raised from your GiveSendGo campaign, you need to add a recipient. This recipient will be responsible for providing their bank details and verifying their identity. Please note that only the recipient can add their banking details and your campaign must be published in order to add a recipient.

Steps to Add a Recipient

You must publish your campaign before you can add a recipient. From there, simply:

  • Log into your GiveSendGo account
  • Locate the campaign in your My Campaigns
  • Click Add Recipient
  • Provide the new recipient’s details

Recipient Types and Requirements

You can add either an individual or a business as a recipient for your campaign. Here are the different recipient types and their requirements:

Individual (Self)

If you're adding yourself as the recipient, you'll need to provide your identity and bank details for verification.

Individual (Someone Else)

If you're adding someone else, you'll need to enter their name and email. They will receive an email with further instructions on how to join the campaign as recipient, connect their bank account, and verify their identity.

Business/Organization

For businesses or organizations, you will need to enter:

  • The business name

  • Employer Identification Number (EIN), if applicable

  • The details of the legal representative

The legal representative will receive an email with instructions on how to provide their banking details. If you’re the legal representative, the email will guide you through the process.

Important: Legal representatives must be authorized to represent businesses and comply with financial regulations to ensure secure transactions.

Verification Requirements

The verification process is mandatory as it complies with financial regulations and ensures secure transactions. To successfully verify a recipient's identity, they must be 18 years of age or older and have:

  • A bank account based in the same country as the campaign
  • A government-issued photo ID that includes their date of birth
  • A phone number
  • A residential address
    • PO Boxes are not accepted
  • A valid tax ID

Following these guidelines will enable you to add a recipient to your campaign and start receiving funds.
