After you've connected to your campaign as the recipient, you’ll likely want to know how and when those funds become available to you. This article walks you through how payout timelines on GiveSendGo work, from choosing between manual and automatic payouts to understanding timelines, fees, and more.
Automatic vs. Manual Payouts
GiveSendGo offers two types of payouts, and you can choose the one that best fits your needs.
Automatic Payouts
Automatic payouts offer a "hands-free" way to manage your campaign earnings. Once enabled, funds are automatically sent to your connected bank account on a regular schedule, with no further action needed on your part.
You can choose the frequency that works best for you:
- Weekly
- Bi-weekly
- Monthly
This is a great option if you prefer a set-it-and-forget-it approach.
Manual Payouts
Manual payouts give you more control over when your funds are sent. When your balance becomes available, you can initiate a transfer by clicking the Send Payout Request button.
You can switch between automatic and manual payouts at any time if you wish.
Note: The switch will take effect seven days after making the change.
Timelines
Knowing when to expect your funds can helps you plan ahead. Here are some key things to know about how long donations process and become available to transfer to your bank account:
- Your first donation becomes available five days after it’s received
- All subsequent donations become available on a three-day rolling basis
- Once a payout is processed, funds typically land in your bank account within 2–3 business days
Non-USD payouts may take longer depending on your currency and country.
Let's Break It Down
Let’s walk through an example to make payout timing even clearer. Let’s say your campaign receives four donations with one on each of the follow dates:
May 1st
May 3rd
May 5th
May 11th
You'd be able to initiate your first payout on May 6th, but it would only include your first two donations. This is because your third hasn't been processed and added to your available balance yet. And your fourth hasn't even been made yet!
From there, you could:
- Initiate a second payout for your third donation on May 8th, then initiate a third payout for your fourth donation on May 14th, or
- Wait until May 14th to request a second payout that includes your third and fourth donations
There’s no extra fee for making multiple payout requests on GiveSendGo. However, waiting to combine donations into a single payout can help you simplify your record-keeping if you prefer making fewer transfers.
Minimums, Fees, and Security
While GiveSendGo strives to make payouts easy, there are a few important considerations to keep in mind:
- Minimum payout amounts: These vary by country; you can check the minimum payout for your country here
- Processing fees: See our full fee breakdown for details
Note that we may occasionally request further documentation clarification as part of the payout process.
