Why Is My Payout Less Than Expected?

Modified on Wed, Apr 30 at 1:10 PM

If your payout was lower than expected, don’t worry—there are a few common reasons this can happen. Here’s how GiveSendGo calculates payout amounts and what may affect the total you receive.

How Payout Amounts Are Calculated

When you request a payout, the amount transferred is based on your available balance at that moment—not your total raised. That’s because donations take three days to process before they’re available to withdraw.

So, if you request a payout shortly after receiving new donations, those newer donations may still be processing and won’t be included in that payout.

Tip: If you want to include recent donations in your next payout, give them at least 3 days to process before submitting a payout request.

Delays Due to Additional Verification

In rare cases, larger or unusual donations may be flagged for a quick review by our team. This extra layer of verification helps keep you—and our platform—safe from fraud.

When this happens, the donation is temporarily held and won’t immediately show in your available balance. Once cleared, it’ll be added back to your account and included in your next payout.
