How to Add a Recipient and Receive Funds

Modified on Mon, Sep 23 at 12:52 PM

To receive funds raised from your GiveSendGo campaign, you need to add a recipient. This recipient will be responsible for providing their bank details and verifying their identity. Please note that only the recipient can add their banking details and your campaign must be published in order to add a recipient.

Below are the steps and requirements for adding a recipient:

Steps to Add a Recipient

Note: You must first publish your campaign before a recipient can be added.

  1. Log into your GiveSendGo account.
  2. Under "My Campaigns," locate the campaign.
  3. Click "Add Recipient" and provide the new recipient’s details.

If you're adding someone else or if the legal representative of a business is someone else, they will receive an email invitation to connect their bank account for payouts.

Recipient Types and Requirements

There are three types of recipients: individuals (yourself or someone else), and businesses/organizations. Each type has specific requirements.

Individual - Myself

If you're adding yourself as the recipient, you'll need to provide your identity and bank details for verification.

Individual - Someone Else

If you're adding someone else, you'll need to enter their name, email, and phone number. They will receive an email with further instructions on how to provide their banking details and verify their identity.

Business/Organization

For businesses and organizations, you'll need to enter the business name, Employer Identification Number (EIN), Doing Business As (DBA) if applicable, and the details of the legal representative. The legal representative will receive an email with further instructions. If you're the representative, use your current email address and follow the prompts for verification.

  • Please note that the legal representative is required to verify their identity to comply with financial regulations and ensure secure transactions.

Verification Requirements

To successfully verify the recipient's identity, the following are required:

  • A bank account (in the same currency as the fundraiser)
  • A passport or government-issued photo ID
  • A phone number
  • A residential address (PO boxes are not accepted)
  • A tax ID (for example, a Social Security Number if in the US)
  • The recipient must be 18 years of age or older

Note: The verification process is mandatory as it complies with financial regulations and ensures secure transactions.

By following these guidelines, you can add a recipient to your campaign and start receiving funds. Please reach out to our support team if you have any further questions.
