Set Your Fundraiser to Private on GiveSendGo
Some stories are meant for a specific circle, family, close friends, or a trusted community. Setting your fundraiser to private lets you share it only with the people you choose.
When your fundraiser is set to private:
- It will not appear in GiveSendGo search results
- It will not appear in category listings
- Only people with the direct fundraiser link can view and give
Unpublished and private aren't the same thing. An unpublished fundraiser is completely hidden, no one can view or donate to it. A private fundraiser, on the other hand, is live and accepting donations, but only visible to people you personally share it with.
Making Your Fundraiser Private
- Log in to your GiveSendGo account
- Go to My Fundraisers and open the fundraiser you want to manage
- Click Settings on the Dashboard
- Scroll to Privacy Settings
- Toggle Make my fundraiser private to On
- In the confirmation pop-up, click Update to apply the change
To make your fundraiser public again, follow the same steps and toggle the switch to Off, then click Update on the confirmation pop-up.
What to Know About Private Fundraisers
- Private fundraisers are fully functional. Givers can donate as long as they have the direct link
- Anyone with the link can access the page, so be intentional about who you share it with
- Setting your fundraiser to private does not affect funds already raised
Taking Your Fundraiser Fully Offline
If you want to stop accepting donations entirely, not just limit visibility, you have two options:
- Hide donate function — keeps your fundraiser page visible but hides the donate button so no new gifts can be made. Find this toggle under Settings → General Settings.
- Unpublish your fundraiser — takes the page offline completely. See Publishing and Unpublishing Your Fundraiser.
