How to Request a Recipient Display Name Change

Overview

If you need to request a change to the displayed recipient name on your campaign, follow the steps outlined below. Please note that business recipients (Type: Business) do not need to request a display name change.

Note for Business Recipients

When adding a recipient, the campaign owner should choose Type: Business. The business name or DBA (if applicable) will be displayed automatically. If you have already added a recipient as an individual and need to change it to a business, please contact us at support@givesendgo.com from the email address associated with your account to reset the recipient information.

Note for Campaign Owners (Organizers)

Campaign owners can edit their displayed name directly in the campaign dashboard. To do this:

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. Go to Manage Campaign.

  3. Select Campaign Edit.

  4. Update the Created By name.

This feature allows campaign owners (organizers) to control how their name appears on the campaign without needing a display name change for the organizer's name.

Steps to Request a Recipient Display Name Change

1. Ensure the Recipient is Added and Verified

Before making a recipient display name change request, the recipient must be added to the campaign and complete both bank and identity verification.

Steps to Add and Verify a Recipient:

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. Publish your campaign.

  3. Return to your dashboard.

  4. Click Add Recipient.

  5. Choose the type Myself or Someone Else.

    • For Someone Else, the recipient will receive an invite to complete their bank and identity verification.

Bank and identity details must be submitted prior to submitting a request for a recipient display name change.

2. Contact Customer Support

To request a change to the displayed recipient name, contact support@givesendgo.com from the email address associated with your account. Provide the following details:

Details to Provide:

  • Campaign URL

  • Requested Display Name Change: [New Display Name]

  • Reason for the Display Name Change: [Please select one of the following reasons]

    • Legal name change (marriage, divorce, court order) – Please provide the relevant legal document.

    • Safety concerns (e.g., victims of harassment or domestic violence) – Please provide any supporting documentation.

    • Professional pseudonym (e.g., authors, artists) – Please provide relevant supporting documents.

    • Independent online entity (e.g., social media influencers, online platform managers) – Please provide proof of your online presence and impact.

What Happens Next?

Once you have submitted your request with all the required details and documentation:

  1. Our customer support team will review your request.

  2. If any information or documentation is missing, we will contact you to request the necessary details.

  3. Once all required information is received, your request will be submitted to our verification team for review.

  4. You will be notified once your request has been processed and the display name change has been completed.
