How to Request an Alias for Your Campaign Recipient on GiveSendGo

Modified on Sun, 18 Feb 2024 at 03:59 PM

*Important Notice for Business Recipients*: If you are representing a registered entity and wish to display your legal business name or DBA (Doing Business As) as the recipient on the campaign, there is no need to request an alias. Simply add your entity as the recipient during the "Add Recipient" step (Recipient Type: Business) in your campaign dashboard. The legal business name or DBA will be automatically displayed as the entity receiving funds.

Understanding the Need for Privacy: At GiveSendGo, we recognize the importance of privacy and accurate representation in fundraising. To use an alias or a different name for your campaign recipient, follow this guide for a smooth process.

Guidelines

  • Individuals: Must display the legal first and last names. Using a middle name instead is subject to verification and requires a government-issued ID.
  • Unregistered Groups/Online Personas: Must provide documentation of ownership or authorization, such as social media dashboard screenshots or website admin panel access, proving the right to use the alias and its relevance to the campaign.

Before Requesting: The recipient’s identity and banking details must be verified.

  1. Create and publish your campaign.
    • Note: To add a recipient to your campaign, it must first be published. However, you have the option to temporarily unpublish your campaign after adding the recipient details to maintain privacy. Once your request is approved, you can republish your campaign to begin accepting donations.
  2. Add a recipient (Myself or Someone Else).
    • For Myself: Enter identity and banking details, upload your ID, and submit.
    • For Someone Else: Provide their legal name, email, and phone number. They will be invited to complete the steps.

Submitting Your Request

  1. Initial Inquiry:
    • Email Support@GiveSendGo.com with your request and all necessary documentation.
    • For middle name requests, specify the preferred name order and provide your ID via a secure link provided by our team (do not email your ID directly).
  2. Verification Process:
    • Our team will review your documentation for authorization and relevance.
    • You will receive email updates throughout.

Possible Outcomes

  1. Approval: If criteria are met, your campaign will be updated with the requested name.
  2. Denial: If not met, we'll offer feedback and the chance to submit more information.

Important Points

  • Transparency and Trust: These principles guide our alias approval process.
  • Recipient Verification: Mandatory for all requests to maintain our platform's integrity.
  • Documentation: Required for authorization verification.
