✨ Why We Allow Some Campaigns You May Disagree With
At GiveSendGo, our mission is to share the hope of Jesus through crowdfunding. That means we’ve created a platform where people can find help, prayer, and support—even when their stories are difficult, controversial, or unpopular.
We know some campaigns stir strong emotions, especially those involving criminal charges or tragedy. These are not issues we treat lightly. In fact, they touch the very heart of why GiveSendGo exists: to be a place of grace, not judgment—a place of principles, not pressure.
We’re Guided by Principles, Not Popularity
We believe in upholding freedom of conscience, due process, and the God-given dignity of every person—even when they’re accused of wrongdoing.
Our approach is grounded in the same principles that shaped America: justice, due process, and freedom from mob rule. We don’t make decisions based on outrage or popularity. And we don’t silence voices just because they’re controversial. That kind of reactive censorship doesn’t align with our platform—or with biblical wisdom.
As Scripture says:
“Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry” (James 1:19).
That posture isn’t always popular—but it’s vital when people’s lives, reputations, and futures are on the line.
Legal Defense Is Not the Same as Promoting Violence
A common question we receive is:
Why would you allow someone to raise funds if they’ve been accused of something terrible?
The answer is simple: being accused is not the same as being guilty.
We don’t allow campaigns that promote or glorify violence, or raise funds for illegal activity. That’s clearly against our Terms of Use. But a legal defense campaign? That’s someone asking for help while navigating due process—and we believe that process matters. It’s not just a legal right; it reflects the kind of grace and patience we’re called to show as followers of Christ.
Grace and Freedom Go Hand in Hand
Jesus said, “Give to everyone who asks…” (Luke 6:30)—a call to radical grace. That doesn’t mean we approve of every campaign. It means we provide space for people to ask for help, and trust our community to respond with discernment.
Our role isn’t to decide who’s worthy of support—it’s to steward a platform where freedom, prayer, and hope can intersect. We trust our users to give—or not give—based on their own convictions.
Global Platform, Global Responsibility
GiveSendGo is used by campaign owners and givers around the world. That means we must also comply with the laws and regulatory requirements of different countries and regions, as well as the rules of our payment partners and banking institutions.
Our ability to host or disburse certain campaigns isn’t just guided by our values—it’s also shaped by the legal frameworks and financial regulations we operate within. If a campaign violates local laws or platform compliance policies, we may be unable to host or process donations, regardless of public sentiment.
What If a Campaign Violates Policy?
We review every campaign for compliance before funds are disbursed, and we also rely on our community to flag campaigns that may need closer review.
If you believe a campaign violates our standards—such as promoting violence, spreading false information, or engaging in fraud—you can report it using the steps below:
Click the Contact Us button at the bottom right of the page
Choose “Report a Campaign” as your reason
Include the campaign URL and any relevant details
Every report is reviewed. If a campaign is found to be out of compliance, we take action in accordance with our Terms.
In Summary
We do not host campaigns that promote violence, fund illegal activity, or break our Terms.
We do allow legal defense and other controversial campaigns, when they comply with policy.
We lead with grace, grounded in biblical values and constitutional principles.
We operate globally and must comply with laws, financial regulations, and platform partner standards.
We trust our community to give prayerfully and wisely.
Thank you for caring deeply. Even difficult feedback helps us protect the mission and steward this space with faith and conviction.
