If you're raising funds as a registered nonprofit organization, you may want to clearly communicate your 501(c)(3) status to givers. GiveSendGo does not automatically generate tax-deductible receipts on behalf of individual campaigns, but there are ways to share your nonprofit details with supporters.
GiveSendGo Is Not a 501(c)(3)
GiveSendGo is not a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. As a result, donations made to most campaigns on our platform are not automatically tax-deductible. If your campaign represents a verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, you are responsible for communicating your tax-exempt status directly to your givers.
You can add your nonprofit details to a custom thank-you message, which is automatically sent to givers after each donation. We recommend you include:
- A personal thank you
- A statement confirming your 501(c)(3) nonprofit status
- Your organization’s full legal name
- Your Tax ID (EIN)
- A statement clarifying the tax-deductible portion of the donation
- A note that any optional tip to GiveSendGo is not tax-deductible
Providing this information helps reduce confusion and gives supporters what they may need for their records. You can also add this information to your campaign story if you wish. For instructions on setting up your message, see Set Up a Custom Thank You Message for Givers. Example Text You Can Use

Common Questions
Can I edit the official GiveSendGo donation receipt?
No. The donation receipt GiveSendGo sends to givers immediately after they donate cannot be customized. Any additional tax-related language must be communicated elsewhere, like your campaign story or a thank you message.
Does GiveSendGo verify nonprofit status?
We verify EINs for business/organization recipients as part of our verification process, but do not independently validate 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Nonprofit recipients are responsible for ensuring their tax-exempt information is accurate and compliant.
Where do I manage my thank you message?
You can manage your campaign’s thank you message from your dashboard. For detailed instructions, see our article on setting up a custom thank you email.
