How to Change a Recipient Display Name on GiveSendGo

Changing a Recipient Display Name

Who receives the funds is at the heart of every campaign. If you need to update the Campaign Funds Will Be Received By name, that change is handled by our support team.

Before You Start

For Campaign Organizers:

If you're the campaign owner and want to change the Campaign Created By name on the campaign, you can do this yourself—no need to contact GiveSendGo support. See How to Edit Your Campaign (Title, Story, Media, Goal).

For Business Recipients:

If the recipient is a business or organization, make sure to select Business/Organization as the recipient type when adding a recipient. This ensures the business name appears as the display name automatically.

Requesting to Change the Recipient Display Name

To request the recipient display name, please reach out to us via the Contact Us button from the email address tied to your GiveSendGo account. Include:

  • URL of the campaign you want the update applied to

  • The reason for the change

  • The new display name you'd like

WarningImpersonation Policy Reminder: Recipient names must accurately reflect the individual, business, or organization directly involved with the campaign. Display names that misrepresent your relationship to the campaign cannot be approved, even when fundraising on someone else's behalf.

Common Reasons for Updating the Recipient Display Name

  • Legal Name Change: Marriage, divorce, court documentation, or similar

  • Safety Concerns: Protecting your or someone else’s identity in a sensitive situation

  • Professional Pseudonym: Using a stage name, pen name, or alternate identity

  • Representing a Digital Brand or Page: For campaigns run on behalf of a business, ministry, influencer, or organization

What Happens After You Submit Your Request

Once we receive your request, our team will review it and reach out if anything is missing. Once approved, we'll update the recipient name on your campaign.
