Choosing Your Goal Amount on GiveSendGo

Setting Your Campaign Goal

Your fundraising goal tells your story before anyone reads a word. Set it to reflect your actual need and give supporters a clear sense of the difference their gift will make.

Setting or Updating Your Goal

You can set or change your goal at any time from the Basics section of your campaign editor. For step-by-step instructions on editing your campaign, see How to Edit Your Campaign.

Set a Realistic Goal

Starting with a realistic number can help build early momentum and credibility. Choose an initial goal that feels attainable based on your situation and network. You can increase your goal later if your needs grow or you reach your original target.

Factor in Transaction Fees

GiveSendGo does not charge platform fees, but our third-party payment processor deducts a small transaction fee from each donation. When setting your goal, consider the total amount you’ll need after processing fees are applied. This will help ensure you receive the amount required for your situation. For a full breakdown of fees, see our article Understanding Fees on GiveSendGo.

Your goal is a reflection of your need. Set it thoughtfully, and adjust it as your situation evolves.
