Changing a Recipient Display Name on GiveSendGo

The recipient display name is the name shown in the Campaign funds will be received by field on your fundraiser page. If you want to change it, our support team can update it for you.

Updating the name shown as the fundraiser creator

If you want to change the name shown on your fundraiser, contact support and we can update your user name.

Business or organization recipients

If the recipient is a business or organization, make sure you selected Business as the recipient type when adding the recipient. Selecting this type correctly will display the business name automatically. No separate display name change is needed.

Identity verification must be complete first

Before a recipient display name change can be processed, the recipient must have submitted their ID and successfully completed identity verification, and their bank account must be connected.

How to Request a Display Name Change

To request a display name change, Contact Us from the email address associated with your GiveSendGo account. Include:

  • The link of the fundraiser
  • The current recipient display name
  • The new display name you'd like
  • The reason for the change
Recipient names must accurately reflect the individual, business, or organization directly involved with the fundraiser. Display names that misrepresent your relationship to the fundraiser cannot be approved, even when fundraising on someone else's behalf.

Common Reasons for a Display Name Change

  • Legal name change (marriage, divorce, court documentation)
  • Safety concerns, protecting someone's identity in a sensitive situation
  • Professional pseudonym (stage name, pen name, or alternate identity)

After You Submit

Our team will review your request and reach out if anything is missing. Once approved, the recipient display name on your fundraiser will be updated.
